After School Puppet Project

This week in my after school art class we painted our puppet heads that we had made last week from plaster gauze. This is very much like paper mache but it dries so much faster and is hard as rock. After we painted them with acrylic paint we added these colorful dresses and a felt collar...and voila! we were ready for our puppet show!

This week in the after school art class we painted on canvas boards and then put the work in pretty gold frames..they look so beautiful I thought I would create an online gallery!

Craft Project: Salt Dough

Here's a craft project we did recently in my after school art class...Salt Dough. The dough is very easy to make. I used 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of salt and about 1/2 cup of water.
The dough can be baked hard in a 200 degree over for about 4 hours. Then we painted our creations with acrylic paint, gloss and sparkles. My son and I made Noah's Ark..with Noah and his wife, some snakes, penguins, birds and sheep ..and my daughter made some cakes and challah bread.

Parsons Toy Design Class

Last week I went to visit to the Parson's Toy Design Class to do a show and tell of my work and help them make a stuffed toy of their own. Thank you to Caty for inviting me again! ..it's always a pleasure to see what the students come up with!
